Mixed back experience.

The main benefit of the game is that it's technically very mature, with very few bugs or technical issues. The classes and Prestige classes are mostly well-balanced.

If you enjoy D&D or Pathfinder, you'll love the game's system.

Roleplay is strictly enforced, and player-killing cannot occur without roleplay motives behind it. You will be asked/forced to submit a in-game report on any player-killing activity. Even if you were just a random by-stander happening to be at the scene were two others were fighting.

Around 80% of the active roleplay seems to be focused on what could be described as "tea-society roleplay." This typically involves 2-3 cliques of players sitting around in their favorite rooms, chatting in character—often with a heavy emphasis on erotic roleplay. There's very little conflict or action. I've even heard of a situation where a Necromancer player complained about being hunted by an anti-undead player, saying they were "just trying to tell a cool story" (this is hearsay from their Discord server).

There’s a lot of active world-building happening, led by staff and avatars, but unless you're involved in these tea-society cliques and vetted by them, your chances of participating in these events are slim. It feels like the staff or avatars are actively running these groups.

That said, the game is worth playing for its excellent technical performance. Get to know the online community, as there are some remarkable role-players in the mix, and that’s when the game truly shines.
