About

The idea for MudVerse came about in late 2007 when a group of die hard gamers realized how dissatisfied they were with the current MUD listing sites on the web. It was easy to tell that some of the top ranking sites on search engines hadn't been updated in years. The concept for MudVerse evolved quickly, with domain names being registered, a database design and core functionality list being drafted within a month and the initial framework being developed.

Over time the concept evolved, changed and was finalized. It now encompassed not just MUDs but a variety of text based games. MudVerse uses a free form tagging system that allows users a greater level of game listing customization then other sites. The search feature not only searches through text entered in the title or description of the listing but through both standard and free form tags as well.
